Description
This publication reproduction the NER’s public timetable for the autumn and winter of 1912-1913. The timetable details the services provided over NER lines as well as trains provided using ECJS stock between England and Scotland. Through services or carriages run to other railways are shown in separate tables. It also provides information on sleeping and dining cars attached to trains, the former being East Coast Joint Stock and the latter being a mixture of NER and foreign railways vehicles. Summary tables give the full service between major towns on the North Eastern. The running of push-pull trains (typically a class BTP with one or more coaches) is indicated by the annotation ‘Steam Autocar’. Services provided by the two ‘Petrol Electric’ Autocars are also given (pages 90 & 107). Motor omnibuses operated by the NER in the Blyth, Ripon, Thirsk and Beverley districts are also detailed. Passenger services over jointly owned lines such as the Axholme Joint or South Yorkshire Joint or over light railways such as the Nidd Valley, North Sunderland and Easingwold are included. The company’s general notices, regulations, fares, and steamship connections are given.
