Description
In 1914 the NER and the H&BR opened their new joint dock in Hull, called King George Dock. Various newspapers and magazines carried reports of the opening and included much technical detail.
The “Railway News” for 27 June 1914 used 12 drawings by Percy J Home to give an idea of the sheer scale of some of the dock equipment and the traffic through the port of Hull. These drawings were later bound together in what may have been a souvenir brochure.
Through the generosity of Steve Bramley we are able to make a copy of the brochure available for downloading at no charge.
