Description
This facsimile publication lists the private sidings located on the North Eastern Railway as at 1st January 1898 along with the owner’s name and the name of the station to be used for accounting purposes. Detailed within the publication are the restriction that many of the sidings had due to sharp curves, inclines and loading gauge restrictions that had to be considered when loading wagons. Special labelling arrangements allowed the correct routing of wagons and charging at the correct rate. Concise lists of sidings by traders name and by station are also included.
