NER Diagrams of Engines (Fletcher, McDonnell and Worsdell classes)

Description

This facsimile reproduces the ‘printed’ set of engine diagrams produced by Gateshead Works in 1904. Annotated ‘NER Locomotive Dept. Gateshead’ these pages featured the majority of the classes the majority of the classes introduced under the direction of the Worsdells, Thomas and Wilson, plus McDonnell’s class 38 and 59. The book additionally contains many earlier classes introduced under Fletcher from other copies of the diagram book – all contained differences. In all 7 copies of the book, from within the NERA Archive and private collections, were surveyed to produce a comprehensive picture as possible.
