Ferryhill, Durham and Bishop Auckland Branches

Description

These diagrams encompass the many branches that radiated out from Ferryhill towards Stockton, East Hartlepool and Bishop Auckland along with the Durham – Bishop Auckland line. Also included are the Chilton, Coxhoe, Page Bank (Spenymoor), West Cornforth and Dearness Valley (Waterhouses) branches. As the lines were built to support the transport of coal the diagrams include many connections and sidings installed to facilitate transfer of this prodigious traffic from the many collieries in the area.
