COACH TOUR

Saturday 22rd June 2019
Sunday 23rd June 2019

We are investigating the feasibility of running two coach tours over the weekend of 22nd/23rd June, following a suggestion by John Richardson.

On Saturday 23nd June, the plan would be to start from York and travel via Darlington to visit the South Tynedale Railway at Alston. After lunch, and a ride on the narrow gauge railway, we return via Darlington.

The following day, Sunday 23rd June, starting again from York and picking up in Harrogate, we will visit and ride in the 1903 NER Autocar that recently entered service on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway after a long restoration project headed by Stephen Middleton. We hope to use a classic 1947 Leyland Tiger coach for the Embsay journey.

If you are interested in either or both of these tours please email supplement@ner.org.uk to say whether you are interested in either or both tours, so that we get the an idea of the viability of each tour. Full details and booking forms will be published in the May Supplement.
